Ukrainian forces repel assault on Hryshyne near Pokrovsk

The Ukrainian Defense Forces have repelled a Russian assault on Hryshyne in the Donetsk region.

According to Ukrinform, the 7th Rapid Response Corps of the Ukrainian Air Assault Forces said this in a post on Telegram.

The Corps said that Russian activity is increasing in its area of responsibility on the Hryshyne axis, northwest of Pokrovsk.

Russian troops attempted a mechanized assault on the settlement using three armored vehicles.

The enemy decided to accelerate the pace of its offensive on Hryshyne after failing to achieve its objectives through infiltration tactics.

The Russian breakthrough attempt in Hryshyne achieved partial success.

The 155th Mechanized Brigade, in coordination with adjacent units, detected the invaders and engaged them in combat. Ukrainian troops eliminated Russian forces both on the approaches to the village and on its outskirts.

Overall, Ukrainian defenders destroyed two enemy armored vehicles and more than ten Russian soldiers.

On one of the armored vehicles, the invaders fled the battlefield. A search for and elimination of the remaining enemy infantry is ongoing, including inside Hryshyne itself.
