War update: 61 clashes on front lines since midnight, nearly half on Pokrovsk axis
The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces said this in a post on Facebook in its operational update as of 16:00 on Saturday, January 24, Ukrinform reports.
Russian forces launched artillery strikes on the settlements of Kliusy, Hremiach, Khrinivka and Karpovychi in the Chernihiv region, as well as Kucherivka, Ryzhivka, Rohizne, Iskryskivshchyna, Havrylova Sloboda, Zarichne, Budky and Sosnivka in the Sumy region.
On the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk axes, the Russians carried out one airstrike, dropping three guided bombs, and conducted 51 shelling attacks, including two using multiple launch rocket systems.
On the Southern Slobozhanshchyna axis, four clashes took place in the areas of Starytsia, Vovchanski Khutory, and toward Kruhle and Chuhunivka. One engagement is still ongoing.
On the Kupiansk axis, the enemy attempted to break through Ukrainian defenses, attacking toward Pishchane.
On the Lyman axis, Russian forces launched six attacks in the areas of Drobyshcheve, Zarichne, Torske, and toward Druzheliubivka. Two clashes are ongoing.
On the Sloviansk axis, Ukrainian forces repelled an enemy attack near Zvanivka. The battle is still continuing.
On the Kramatorsk axis, Ukrainian units repelled an assault near Orikhovo-Vasylivka.
On the Kostiantynivka axis, Ukrainian defenders repelled eight attempts by the enemy to penetrate Ukrainian lines in the areas of Kostiantynivka, Kleban-Byk, Pleshchiivka, Shcherbynivka, Rusyn Yar, Sofiivka, and toward Novopavlivka.
On the Pokrovsk axis, Russian invaders made 27 attempts to push back Ukrainian troops in the areas of Rodynske, Kotlyne, Udachne, Molodetske, Filiia, and toward Dorozhnie, Shevchenko, Hryshyne and Ivanivka. Fighting is ongoing in several locations.
On the Oleksandrivka axis, Ukrainian forces stopped three enemy assault actions near Zelenyi Hai and Zlahoda.
On the Huliaipole axis, the aggressor attempted to advance 12 times in the areas of Huliaipole, Myrne, and toward Nove Zaporizhzhia, Dobropillia, Zelene, Varvarivka and Zaliznychne. Airstrikes hit Zirnytsia, Liubytske, Vozdvyzhivka, Zaliznychne and Verkhniа Tersa.
On the Orikhiv axis, Ukrainian defenders repelled an enemy attack near Plavni.
On the Dnipro River axis, the invaders made one unsuccessful attempt to improve their position near the Antonivskyi Bridge.
