Almost 58,000 people work in repair teams at energy facilities – Zelensky

Ukrinform
Nearly 58,000 people are working around the clock in repair teams on power grids and generation facilities.

According to Ukrinform, President Volodymyr Zelensky stated this in his video address, published on Facebook.

Zelensky said that throughout the day he had been receiving reports from Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko and Energy Minister Denys Shmyhal. He noted that restoration work continued after Russian strikes and that, unfortunately, there were new hits every night.

According to him, Russia's main target remained Ukraine's energy sector. Almost 58,000 people were effectively working non-stop in repair teams on power grids, generation facilities, and heating networks, with resources from Ukrzaliznytsia and other state-owned companies also involved.

He added that an additional 50 repair teams from across the country had been deployed to Kyiv, where the situation remained very difficult. Zelensky said that some residential buildings were still without heating and that, for these cases, the necessary equipment and teams were being assigned manually to virtually every building. He also noted that the situation was difficult in the Kyiv region, especially in the northern part of the oblast and in the Boryspil district.

Zelensky further stated that repairs to networks and facilities were also complicated in border and frontline regions due to almost constant shelling and strikes. He said that Kharkiv, Chernihiv region, Sumy region, Dnipropetrovsk region, and Zaporizhzhia required special attention. A great deal of work had been carried out in the Poltava region and in Odesa to stabilize the energy situation.

Zelensky expressed gratitude to all repair teams currently working, to state-owned and private energy companies, and to all city and community leaders who, as he said, were truly working together with their people and providing real assistance.

As Ukrinform reported, 143 residential buildings in Kyiv remain without heat supply, 30 of them due to Russian attacks and 100 due to local accidents in the heating system.
