Russians hit key energy facility in Chernihiv region, leaving settlements in darkness

On January 18, Russian forces attacked a critical energy facility in the Koriukivka district of the Chernihiv region.

According to Ukrinform, the update was reported on Telegram by JSC Chernihivoblenergo.

"As a result of the Russian shelling, an important energy facility in the Koriukivka district was damaged. Several settlements are without electricity," the report states.

Chernihivoblenergo added that repair and restoration work will begin as soon as the security situation allows.

Earlier, Ukrinform reported that water utility facilities in Sumy were also left without power.
