Russian drone kills priest in Kherson region

In Kherson region, a Russian drone strike killed the rector of the Intercession Church in the village of Orlove, Archpriest Heorhii Horbenko.
According to Ukrinform, Ivan Hordiienko, rector of the St. Kasperov Church (Ukrainian Orthodox Church) stated this on Facebook
"On January 5, 2025, as a result of a Russian drone strike, the rector of the Intercession Church in the village of Orlove, Archpriest Heorhii Horbenko, was killed at his parish," the post says.
The Kherson Eparchy expressed condolences to the family of Archpriest Heorhii and asked for holy prayers for the fallen clergyman.
As Ukrinform previously reported, Russian forces shelled the territory of a Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Kherson.
