Death toll in Russian missile strike on Kharkiv rises to six

In Kharkiv, the number of people killed in a Russian strike on January 2 has risen to six after body fragments of another victim were discovered.

This was reported on Telegram by Head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration Oleh Syniehubov, according to Ukrinform.

“Fragments of the body of another victim have been found in Kharkiv at the site of the enemy strike,” the statement said.

Earlier reports said the death toll from the ballistic attack on the city on January 2 had increased to five.

According to the Kharkiv region police, debris removal is ongoing at the strike site. At present, 32 people are known to have been injured. Search and rescue operations continue.

As reported by Ukrinform, at around 14:30 on January 2, Russian forces struck a residential building in Kharkiv with two Iskander missiles. Earlier, the bodies of a woman and a child were recovered from under the rubble.
