In the Odesa district, Russian drone attacks on the morning of December 30 damaged port and industrial infrastructure, leaving one person injured.

Oleh Kiper, head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, said this in a post on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.

"Despite the active work of air defense forces, damage to industrial and port infrastructure has been recorded in the Odesa district. As a result of strikes on an industrial facility, empty [sunflower] oil storage tanks were damaged. Unfortunately, one person was injured," the statement said.

According to Kiper, a civilian vessel located in the port area was also damaged. No information has been received about fatalities or injuries.

Emergency services are working at the sites. Law enforcement officers are documenting the consequences of yet another war crime against the civilian population of the Odesa region.

Ukraine's Deputy Prime Minister for Restoration and Minister for Communities and Territories Development Oleksii Kuleba specified on Telegram that damage had been recorded at facilities in the ports of Pivdennyi and Chornomorsk. A civilian grain vessel flying the Panamanian flag, which was located in the port area, was damaged.

"This is another deliberate Russian attack on civilian port infrastructure. The enemy is trying to disrupt logistics and complicate navigation. Despite the shelling, seaports continue to operate in compliance with safety requirements," the statement said.

As was earlier reported, oily slicks were recorded in the Black Sea waters within the Odesa district, caused by a sunflower oil spill resulting from enemy attacks on port infrastructure. The water area of the port of Pivdennyi was temporarily closed until the spill is fully eliminated.
