Emergency power cuts in some regions are due to scale of damage – Ministry of Energy

Deputy Minister of Energy Olha Yukhymchuk stated this at a briefing, as reported by Ukrinform.

"Emergency repair work is currently underway in almost every region following massive and localised Russian attacks. However, the level of damage to energy facilities varies from region to region. That is why the situation does not currently allow us to return to hourly power outage schedules on the left bank of Kyiv, in several districts of the Kyiv region, and in the Odesa region," Yukhymchuk said.

She also reported that more than 75,000 customers in the Chernihiv region were left without electricity due to the consequences of the night attack.

Yukhymchuk announced the completion of repair work on the power line that provides external power to the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant. The Deputy Minister emphasized that this will ensure a more reliable and stable power supply to the plant in the event of damage or disconnection of the Dniprovska overhead line resulting from shelling by the occupiers.

As reported, as of the morning of December 30, many users in the Chernihiv region were left without power due to Russian attacks, and there are also power outages in the Sumy and Kharkiv regions.
