In Kyiv, as a result of a Russian attack on December 27, a building of one of the ministries was damaged.

As reported by Ukrinform, this was announced by Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko on Telegram.

"As a result of the shelling [of Kyiv], residential buildings, energy facilities, as well as a building of one of the ministries were damaged," Svyrydenko wrote.

Rescue workers are operating at the sites, clearing the rubble, along with medics and all emergency response services.

Due to a combined drone and missile strike, there are disruptions to water and heat supply in Kyiv.

The city's critical infrastructure facilities have been switched to backup power. Municipal services are working intensively to restore their operation where the security situation already allows.

In Kyiv and the Kyiv region, power engineers are restoring electricity supply for a total of about 600,000 consumers.

"Russia deliberately strikes energy facilities and residential buildings precisely during holiday weekends. We must not give them a chance to sow despair and fear," Svyrydenko stressed.

She thanked emergency services and energy workers for their swift response.

Later, Deputy Minister of Education and Science Andrii Vitrenko reported on Facebook that one of the administrative buildings of the Ministry of Education and Science had been damaged. According to him, there were no casualties among ministry employees or visitors. Emergency rescue services are working at the scene, with debris removal and elimination of the consequences of the strike ongoing.

The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine is already taking all necessary organizational measures to ensure the uninterrupted performance of its key functions amid temporary restrictions on access to the damaged building.

"Despite systematic attempts by the aggressor to destabilize the activities of state institutions, the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine is operating as usual and continues to carry out its tasks of supporting the educational process, developing science, and deepening international cooperation," Vitrenko noted.

As Ukrinform reported, from the night of December 27 Russian troops have been carrying out another massive attack on Ukraine, using nearly 500 drones and about 40 missiles, including Kinzhal missiles. The main target was Kyiv, particularly its energy and civilian infrastructure.
