War update: 258 clashes on front lines, fiercest battles are in Pokrovsk and Lyman sectors

This was reported by the General Staff in the situation update as of 8:00 a.m. on December 27, according to Ukrinform.

Russian forces carried out one missile strike and 65 air strikes, using one missile and dropping 174 guided aerial bombs. In addition, the Russians conducted 3,130 shelling attacks, including 115 using multiple launch rocket systems, and employed 3,624 loitering munitions for strikes.

The Russian army carried out airstrikes on Kharkiv, Prosiana, and Pokrovske in the Dnipropetrovsk region; Ternuvate, Pryluky, Zaliznychne, Vozdvyzhivka, and Novodanylivka in the Zaporizhzhia region; and Odradokamianka in the Kherson region.

Rocket Forces and Artillery of the Defense Forces struck two areas of concentration of enemy personnel, weapons, and military equipment, as well as one other important enemy target.

In the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk sectors, three Russian attacks were recorded. The enemy carried out two air strikes, dropping four guided aerial bombs, and conducted 97 shelling attacks, including one using multiple launch rocket systems.

In the Southern Slobozhanshchyna sector, the Russian army attacked nine times near Vovchanski Khutory, Prylipky, Starytsia, and toward Vilcha and Izbytske.

In the Kupiansk sector, 12 combat engagements occurred. The Defense Forces repelled Russian assault actions in the areas of Pishchane, Kruhliakivka, and toward Petropavlivske, Novoplatonivka, and Kupiansk.

In the Lyman sector, the enemy attacked 33 times, attempting to break through the defense near the settlements of Hrekivka, Novovodiane, Novoyehorivka, Novoselivka, Kopanky, Kolodiazi, Serednie, Ridkodub, Karpivka, Zarichne, and toward the settlements of Lyman and Drobysheve.

In the Sloviansk sector, the Defense Forces stopped eight offensive actions by the invaders in the areas of Siversk and Dronivka.

In the Kramatorsk sector, Ukrainian troops repelled three attacks in the Minkivka and Virolubivka areas.

In the Kostiantynivka sector, the enemy carried out 25 attacks in the areas of the settlements of Oleksandro-Shultyne, Shcherbynivka, Pleshchiivka, Yablunivka, Rusyn Yar, and toward Sofiivka.

In the Pokrovsk sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled 63 assault actions by the Russian army in the areas of the settlements of Shakhove, Pankivka, Nykanorivka, Myrnohrad, Rodynske, Pokrovsk, Kotlyne, Udachne, Novoserhiivka, and Dachne.

In the Oleksandrivka sector, the enemy carried out 21 attacks near the settlements of Zelenyi Hai, Yalta, Tovste, Sichneve, Verbove, Vyshneve, Vorone, and Rybne.

In the Huliaipole sector, the Defense Forces stopped 31 enemy attempts to advance in the areas of Varvarivka, Solodke, and Huliaipole.

In the Orikhiv sector, Ukrainian units repelled nine Russian attacks in the areas of the settlements of Mali Shcherbaky, Stepnohirsk, Stepove, and Mala Tokmachka.

In the Prydniprovske sector, no combat engagements were recorded.

In the Volyn and Polissia sectors, no signs of the Russian army forming offensive groupings were detected.

As reported by Ukrinform, the total combat losses of Russian forces since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, from February 24, 2022, to December 27, 2025, amount to approximately 1,203,310 personnel, including 1,240 over the past day.
