Enemy intensifies infiltration attempts in Huliaypole - military reports
This was reported on television by Vladyslav Voloshyn, spokesman for the Southern Defense Forces, according to a Ukrinform correspondent.
“In Huliaypole itself, the enemy has carried out about a dozen combat clashes over the past day. The enemy is trying to infiltrate the eastern and northeastern parts of the city, sometimes even managing to enter some houses,” Voloshin said.
The spokesman added that visibility in the area is poor due to weather conditions, which allows enemy assault groups to attempt to infiltrate.
“Their assault groups don't last long there, although there are sometimes pockets of resistance, because visibility and weather conditions are quite poor, and the enemy continues its attempts to enter this settlement, so fierce fighting continues there,” he said.
Voloshyn reported that Russian aviation is also active in the area.
“The enemy is quite actively using aviation,” the spokesman said.
According to him, the strongest strikes are currently being delivered on settlements in the Huliaypole and Orikhiv directions.
"The enemy is striking most heavily at Huliaypole and Zaliznychne, which are settlements located in the Huliaypole direction, and is striking settlements located in the Orikhiv direction... According to our intelligence, fire, bomb, and air strikes are being carried out here in order to prepare for new assault operations in this direction, destroy our fortifications and shelters, and continue to storm our positions," Voloshin said.
As reported by Ukrinform, there were 174 combat clashes between the Ukrainian Defense Forces and Russian invaders over the past day. The enemy exerted the most pressure in the Pokrovsk direction, with intense fighting ongoing in the Lyman, Kostiantynivka, Oleksandrivka, Huliaypole, and Orikhiv directions.
