War update: 174 clashes on front line, fierce fighting continues in six sectors

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this on Facebook, posting an update as of 08:00 on Friday, December 12, according to Ukrinform.

In total, 174 combat clashes were recorded over the past 24 hours.

“Yesterday, the enemy launched one missile strike and 38 airstrikes on the positions of Ukrainian units and populated areas, used three missiles, and dropped 99 guided bombs. In addition, it carried out 4,524 attacks, including 94 from multiple launch rocket systems, and deployed 4,485 attack drones,” the report states.

The aggressor carried out airstrikes in particular on the areas of Spirne, Chervona Hirka, and Reutyntsi in the Sumy region; Kostiantynivka in the Donetsk region; and Prydorozhnie in the Zaporizhzhia region.

Over the past day, Rocket Forces and Artillery of the Defence Forces struck an enemy concentration area of personnel and equipment, a command post, and a ground control station for Russian UAVs.

In the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk sectors, six engagements occurred over the past day. The enemy carried out 145 attacks, including nine from multiple launch rocket systems.

In the Southern Slobozhanshcyna sector, five engagements took place — the enemy attempted to advance near the settlements of Prylipka, Izbytske, and Okhrimivka.

In the Kupiansk sector, Ukraine’s Defence Forces repelled an enemy assault near Stepova Novoselivka.

In the Lyman sector, the invaders attacked 11 times, attempting to advance near Novoyehorivka, Hrekivka, Derylove, Kolodiazi, Zarichne, and towards Karmazynivka.

In the Sloviansk sector, the enemy launched six attacks on Ukrainian positions near Dronivka, Serebrianka, and Pereizne.

In the Kramatorsk sector, no combat engagements were recorded over the past day.

In the Kostiantynivka sector, enemy units launched 18 attacks near Shcherbynivka, Pleshchiivka, Oleksandro-Shultynе, Ivanopillia, Kostiantynivka, Yablunivka, Rusyn Yar, and towards Sofiivka.

In the Pokrovsk sector, Ukrainian defenders halted 49 offensive actions by the aggressor near Shakhove, Rodynske, Myrnohrad, Pokrovsk, Kotlyne, Udachne, Molodetske, and towards Novopavlivka.

In the Oleksandrohrad sector, the Defence Forces repelled 26 attacks on Ukrainian positions near Zelenyi Hai, Sosnivka, Sichneve, Verbove, Pryvillia, Vyshneve, Krasnohirske, Rybne, and Pryvilne.

In the Huliaipole sector, Ukrainian troops repelled 13 attacks near Huliaipole, towards Dobropillia, and Varvarivka.

In the Orikhiv sector, the invading forces attacked Ukrainian positions 16 times near Mala Tokmachka, Stepove, Stepnohirsk, and towards Prymorske and Novoandriivka.

In the Prydniprovske sector, one enemy assault attempt failed.

In the Volyn and Polissia sectors, there are no signs of enemy offensive groupings being formed.

As reported by Ukrinform, Russia’s total combat losses from February 24, 2022, to December 12, 2025, amount to approximately 1,186,480 personnel, including 1,400 over the past day.
