Ukrzaliznytsia: Russian attacks destroy about ten railway stations, damage around forty more

 JSC Ukrzaliznytsia reported this to an Ukrinform correspondent.

"In total, since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, we have about 10 stations across Ukraine that the enemy destroyed, and about 40 others have damage of varying degrees. In some cases, this is partial damage, such as broken windows and doors — things that can be quickly restored. But there are buildings that are completely destroyed," the company said.

Ukrzaliznytsia emphasizes that despite the destruction, most damaged stations have been quickly brought back into operation. However, specialists cannot speak of full restoration, as it requires significant funds, which are lacking. Currently, it is difficult to estimate the total damage, as it cannot be calculated precisely and continues to grow with each enemy strike.

Company representatives also commented on the future reconstruction of the station in Fastiv, which was recently destroyed in Russian attacks in the Kyiv region.

"We will definitely not restore the building in its previous format, as its design and convenience caused considerable discussion among residents. The new station must meet modern technical standards, be inclusive, safe, have shelters, and use modern materials. Most likely, there will be no return to the old architecture," Ukrzaliznytsia assured.

As reported, on December 6, a massive Russian strike destroyed railway infrastructure in Fastiv.

JSC Ukrzaliznytsia plans to build a new station building in Fastiv in the Kyiv region, and during construction, passengers will be served in a temporary modular facility.
