Two students killed in Ternopil in heavy Russian shelling

“The community of the Ivan Puliuia Ternopil National Technical University is deeply saddened to announce the tragic death of Andriy Veger, a third-year student of the Industrial Engineering program at the Faculty of Machine, Structure, and Technology Engineering, who fell victim to an enemy attack on the city of Ternopil on November 19, 2025,” the statement said.
The university said that Andriy was conscientious and determined, conscientious and patriotic, sincere and always ready to help.
"He will forever remain a part of our university.
Our deepest condolences to all the family and friends of the deceased. Eternal and bright memory to you, Andriy!" - the university said in a post.
Earlier, it was reported that Ruslan Bobyk, a student at the Ternopil Professional College of Ternopil National Technical University named after I. Puliuia, was killed as a result of the Russian attack on Ternopil.
"The administration, staff, and students of the Ternopil National Technical University's Technical College deeply mourn the tragic death of Ruslan Bobyk, a student in group AT-301, as a result of a hostile missile attack. He will forever remain in the memory of all who knew him as a calm, friendly, and sincere young man. We bow our heads in mourning together with his family," reads a post by the Ternopil Professional College of Ternopil National Technical University named after I. Puliuia.
As reported by Ukrinform, on the morning of November 19, Russians attacked Ternopil with strike drones and missiles. Two residential high-rise buildings were hit in the city. Twenty-seven people were killed. On November 19, 20, and 21, the Ternopil community declared days of mourning for those killed in the combined Russian attack on the city.
