Zelensky: China must help stop Russia's attempts to prolong war
He stated this on Telegram, after a report from the head of Ukraine's Foreign Intelligence Service, Oleh Ivashchenko, according to Ukrinform.
"Oleh Ivashchenko, the Head of Ukraine's Foreign Intelligence Service, also reported on the Chinese leadership's mood and near-term plans in light of Russia's war against our country. It is important that China contribute to efforts aimed at stopping Russia's ongoing attempts to expand and prolong the war," Zelensky said.
He added that "our diplomats will receive relevant instructions based on information from recent meetings in the region."
As Ukrinform reported earlier, U.S. President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping held their first bilateral meeting since Trump's return to the White House in South Korea on October 30. The talks began at 04:00 Kyiv time and lasted for one hour and forty minutes. While Trump and Xi were discussing ways to achieve peace in Ukraine, Russia launched a massive combined missile and drone attack on Ukrainian cities.
