Police officers from the evacuation units known as White Angels have already delivered 754 tons of food to civilians.

Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Oleksii Serhieiev announced this at a briefing, Ukrinform reports.

According to him, White Angels units are trained to provide first aid and have already assisted more than 644 people.

Serhieiev stated that there are currently 24 White Angels evacuation teams operating in Ukraine.

"A total of 153 police officers, the most skilled and best prepared to work in extremely difficult conditions, are involved in these teams," he said.

He added that these groups are equipped with armored vehicles, medicines, first aid supplies, communication tools, electronic warfare systems, and all other necessary means for conducting evacuations under constant shelling.

First Deputy Head of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (DSNS) Vitalii Myroniuk noted that their evacuation teams, called Phoenix, currently numbering 29, operate according to the same model as the White Angels.
