A Russian radar post has been identified near Kurortne on the Kerch Peninsula in temporarily occupied Crimea.
This is according to the Telegram channel Krymsky Veter (Crimean Wind), Ukrinform reports.
“Near the settlement of Kurortne, a Kasta-2-2 (39N6) radar is operating. It is designed to detect, among other things, small aerial targets (drones) at distances up to 95 km,” the report states.
The position also hosts a coastal radar system for detecting surface targets.
Observers have reportedly documented how Russian forces organize the security and defense of the site, the location of posts, and the rotation schedule of personnel.
Ukrinform previously reported that Ukrainian Special Operations Forces struck a Russian S-400 Triumf radar station in Crimea.
