During an on-site meeting, Kalashnyk was joined by the heads of local communities and district military administrations of the Kyiv region. Together, they visited service members of the 9th Border Detachment named after Sich Riflemen, as well as the Chornobyl Exclusion Zone.
Kalashnyk and community leaders discussed additional financial support for Ukrainian forces, the strengthening of security measures, and the expansion of fortification structures.
"All communities of the Kyiv region are contributing to supporting our defenders – with funds, vehicles, drones, and protective equipment. We are acting as a single front, because the security of each settlement means the security of the entire region," Kalashnyk said.
He recalled that this year about UAH 2 billion had been allocated to support the defenders of the Kyiv region, including nearly UAH 600 million from the regional budget.
The meeting also addressed enhanced security, coordination of actions, and rapid response to possible challenges within the exclusion zone.
