Enemies strike Stepanivka in Sumy region 22 times with Shaheds, damaging houses and Ukrposhta post office

The Russian army struck Stepanivka in the Sumy region, damaging numerous residential buildings and the Ukrposhta post office.

According to Ukrinform, the Head of the Sumy District Military Administration, Mykhailo Melnyk, reported this on Facebook.

"Last night, the enemy launched a Shahed drone strike on the village of Stepanivka. Four multi-story buildings and about ten private houses were damaged. A Ukrposhta branch was also damaged," Melnyk said.

He added that a disaster response headquarters had been set up in the village at the Stepanivka Dzvinochok preschool facility at 6 Soborna Street.

The relevant services are working at the site of the strike.

In turn, the Head of the village council, Volodymyr Lukash, told Suspilne that 22 strikes were recorded in Stepanivka overnight.

“People are alive, three houses have been significantly damaged, and 200 windows have been broken. About 40 private houses have also been damaged. Currently, approximately 300 people need building materials. The sewage system is working, there is electricity, but no water yet,” Lukash added.

As reported by Ukrinform, during the day, from the morning of October 7 to the morning of October 8, Russian troops carried out 202 shellings of 58 settlements in 19 territorial communities of the Sumy region.

Three people were officially reported wounded, including a four-year-old child in critical condition. The Head of the Bilopillia community also reported one dead and two wounded.
