Russian drone hits maternity hospital in Sumy

Russian forces have carried out a targeted strike on a medical facility in Sumy.

Oleh Hryhorov, head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, sad this in a post on Telegram, according to Ukrinform.

"The enemy deliberately struck a medical facility in the Kovpakivskyi district of Sumy with a drone," he wrote.

He said that at the time of the attack, 166 people were inside the facility, including 11 children.

"All people were in the shelter at the time of the strike. According to preliminary information, there are no casualties," Hryhorov added.

He warned that the threat of repeated attacks remains and urged residents to stay in shelters.

Andriy Yermak, head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, announced on Telegram that the strike caused the roof of the perinatal center to catch fire.
