Community in Sumy region declares days of mourning for family killed in Russian shelling

"September 30 and October 1, 2025, have been declared days of mourning in the Krasnopilia community. We express our sincere condolences to their loved ones and relatives, and bow our heads in mourning together with the entire community," the statement said.

The Chernechchyna Gymnasium in the Krasnopilia community expressed its condolences for the loss of a young family and announced their names.

"Last night, as a result of a hostile drone strike on the family's home in the village of Chernechchyn, the entire family tragically died: the young couple, Alona and Oleksandr Lesnichenko, as well as their two children, Denys and Yegor Lesnichenko. This is an irreparable loss not only for their family, but also for our entire community," the gymnasium wrote.

As Ukrinform reported, last night Russians struck a residential building in the village of Chernechchyna, Krasnopilia community, with a strike drone. As a result of the attack, a married couple and their sons, aged 6 and 4, were killed. The Russians deliberately targeted the family's home.
