Russia deploys satellite internet terminals to front – Ukrainian defense minister's advisor

Serhii Beskrestnov (also known as "Flash"), an advisor to the Ukrainian defense minister, said this in a post on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.

"Information is coming in about the urgent delivery of satellite internet terminals to the enemy's front-line positions," Beskrestnov wrote.

According to him, Russia has several providers of high-speed satellite internet based on the Yamal and Express satellite systems. Beskrestnov explained their distinctive features and how they can be identified.

All antennas of these terminals look like satellite TV dishes with a diameter of 60-120 cm, oval or round in shape.

All dishes will be oriented toward the southeast or south (azimuth 110-180 degrees).

The dish will be visually exposed. At these frequencies, a protective cover like the one used on Starlink would interfere with operation.

The dish may be placed deeper behind the front line and connected to forward positions via a Wi-Fi bridge.

Beskrestnov stated earlier that restrictions on the use of Starlink terminals had significantly complicated the coordination of Russian forces and had already affected assault operations in certain sections of the front. The Russians are looking for ways to activate Starlink terminals at the front.
