Russian forces continue assaults near Antonivka bridges, rotate troops on Dnipro islands - military spox
Vladyslav Voloshyn, spokesperson for Ukraine's Southern Defense Forces, said this in a comment to an Ukrinform correspondent.
"The enemy has not achieved any success, yet still refuses to abandon these assault operations," Voloshyn said.
According to him, in addition to active assaults, Russian forces are regrouping and rotating personnel.
"Under cover of smoke screens and the morning fog, which conceals movement along the Dnipro channels, the enemy is attempting to rotate its personnel on these islands," the spokesperson said.
Voloshyn stressed that Ukrainian forces detect and disrupt such attempts, striking Russian logistics and routes used to transfer troops and equipment.
He also noted that Russian forces have intensified airstrikes on settlements near the former Kakhovka dam.
"For example, in Olhivka, Odradokamianka, Kozache, and Mykolaivka, the enemy is trying to destroy shelters and fortifications of the Defense Forces, while using these strikes to cover unit rotations on the left [east] bank [of the Dnipro River]," Voloshyn reported.
