In the town of Belorechensk, Russia, traffic has been suspended in the area around the EuroChem-Belorechensk Mineral Fertilizers chemical plant, and employees have been evacuated after an incident in which, residents say, unmanned aerial vehicles struck the facility overnight.

According to Ukrinform, this was reported by the ASTRA Telegram channel.

The Krasnodar regional headquarters confirmed that fragments of Ukrainian UAVs fell near one of the municipality’s large industrial sites, triggering a fire, though the statement did not name the enterprise involved.

Authorities said workers were evacuated. “Approximately 140 people, company employees, were evacuated to a shelter,” the report said.

Officials added that a blaze of roughly 50 square metres was brought under control and that there were no casualties. Emergency and specialised services remain on site.

EuroChem-Belorechensk Mineral Fertilizers is one of the largest producers of mineral fertilisers in southern Russia.

Ukrinform reported that Ukraine’s Defence Forces have previously struck chemical industry sites in Russia, including the Azot plant in the Tula region in May and the Nevinnomyssk Azot chemical plant in the Stavropol region in June, the latter of which produces ammonia and ammonium nitrate used in explosives and artillery munitions.
