Ukraine’s MFA condemns illegal visit of Burkina Faso, Mali, Niger Ambassadors to Crimea
According to Ukrinform, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated this in its comment.
"We consider this ‘visit’ a blatant violation of international law and national legislation, not only by the individuals themselves but also by the regimes they represent… Ukraine reserves the right to respond to any violations of its sovereignty and territorial integrity," the ministry said.
The ministry noted that the ambassadors’ actions appear especially cynical given the supposed efforts of Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger to preserve and defend their own sovereignty and territorial integrity within internationally recognized borders.
"Furthermore, we urge the Ambassadors to recognize that by their actions they have effectively participated in Russia’s campaign to legitimize colonial occupation, making the position of these African diplomats particularly hypocritical," the statement added.
As previously reported, the Russian Federation is expanding its propaganda network in Africa among journalists and political analysts under the guise of combating disinformation.
