To support remote clearance of explosive devices in the Kyiv region, the pyrotechnic unit of the State Emergency Service’s Mobile Rapid Response Rescue Center will deploy a cutting-edge robotic dog.

According to Ukrinform, this was announced on Facebook by the SES Mobile Rapid Response Rescue Center.

The robot is designed to provide effective and safe support for demining operations.

As noted, it’s more than just a mechanical assistant — it’s a next-generation mobile platform that integrates robotics, computer vision systems, and intelligent motion control. The robotic dog is equipped with a high-resolution front-facing camera that transmits clear real-time images, allowing sappers to remotely assess the situation.

“A multi-stage drive system enables it to perform complex maneuvers — from jumping and crouching to moving on two legs. Its optimized power system allows for high-speed movement and extended operation without recharging,” the statement reads.

Unlike traditional tracked manipulator robots, which are only effective on relatively flat terrain, this robot can overcome both urban and natural obstacles, including stairs, curbs, rocky surfaces, sand, and dense grass. Its design ensures stability and maneuverability in environments where other equipment fails.

The integration of this robotic sapper into demining operations not only boosts efficiency but significantly reduces risks for human personnel, the rescue service emphasized.
