Russian forces strike cottage area in Sumy region, sparking fires

In the Sumy region, Russian forces launched an attack on the Kovpakivskyi district, sparking fires in the cottage area.
According to Oleh Hryhorov, head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, the strike occurred at approximately 21:00, targeting the Sumy community. The attack triggered multiple fires across private residential plots, prompting an immediate response from emergency services now working at the scene.
Preliminary reports confirm no casualties or injuries. Authorities are currently assessing the scale of the destruction and identifying the type of weaponry used in the strike.
As earlier reported by Ukrinform, Russian troops struck 32 settlements across the Sumy region between the morning of August 5 and August 6, killing two civilians and injuring five.
