Ministry of Internal Affairs debunks reports of high radiation levels in Zaporizhzhia
According to Ukrinform, the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported this on Telegram.
“Official information regarding radiation levels in the Zaporizhzhia Region: as of 21:20, the Department of Radiation, Chemical, and Biological Protection of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine conducted air measurements. The situation is within normal limits — 0.14 μSv/hour. The radiation background across the country is stable — there is no threat to the population,” the statement said.
It is noted that monitoring is ongoing.
Earlier, the Head of the Center for the Study of Occupation, former Advisor to the Mayor of Mariupol, Petro Andriushchenko, reported that in Zaporizhzhia, at around 7:00 p.m., an excess of radiation levels was allegedly recorded.
"As the wind blew, the radiation level rose. The wind was coming from the occupied territory. I don't want to exaggerate or spread panic, but this definitely requires attention and clarification," he wrote.
Andriushchenko also reminded that the enemy is spreading information about fires near the captured nuclear power plant.
