Civilians injured as Russians shell Kostiantynivka

In Kostiantynivka, Donetsk region, Russian forces injured five civilians who were near a retail establishment. Four of the victims are in serious condition, according to the regional prosecutor's office.

This was reported on Facebook by the Donetsk Regional Prosecutor’s Office, Ukrinform reports.

“On July 25, 2025, between 11:20 and 12:10, the invaders shelled Kostiantynivka with barrel artillery. As a result of the attack, five men aged 28, 42, 53, 63, and 73, who were on the street near a retail establishment, sustained injuries,” the statement reads.

The victims suffered mine-blast injuries, shrapnel wounds, a fractured arm, and a concussion. They were provided with qualified medical care, and doctors consider the condition of four of them to be serious.

Multi-story residential buildings and private homes in the town were also damaged.

A pre-trial investigation has been launched under the procedural guidance of the Kostiantynivka District Prosecutor’s Office in a criminal case concerning a war crime.

Prosecutors emphasized that all necessary steps are being taken to document the consequences of the Russian invaders’ attacks on civilians.

As previously reported, Russian forces killed two civilians and injured 17 others in Donetsk region on July 24, both fatalities occurred in Kostiantynivka.
