Ukraine takes concrete steps to enforce arbitration awards and recover funds from Gazprom

President Volodymyr Zelensky announced this on Facebook following a report by Naftogaz CEO Sergii Koretskyi, according to Ukrinform.

The President discussed with Koretskyi ways to enforce arbitration decisions in Ukraine's favor in the context of preparing for a meeting with ambassadors and updating diplomatic tasks.

As of today, Zelensky noted, Ukraine already has several positive international arbitration awards totaling $6.9 billion.

"These are entirely fair rulings that demonstrate the accountability of Russia and Gazprom and affirm the strength of international law. We are preparing concrete steps to collect these funds, and tomorrow Ukrainian ambassadors will receive relevant instructions," Zelensky stated.

Also discussed were preparations for the new heating season and agreements with partners in Europe and international financial organizations necessary for Ukraine's stability.

The President expressed his gratitude to the Naftogaz team and everyone who is contributing to the “positive results for Ukraine.”

As reported by Ukrinform, in June, the International Court of Arbitration ordered Russia's Gazprom to pay $1.37 billion to Naftogaz.
