‘White Angels’ evacuate over 70 Pokrovsk residents in a week
That’s according to the National Police, as reported by Ukrinform.
Evacuation requests from Pokrovsk are received daily. Several joint teams of police officers and volunteers are working tirelessly in the city to ensure that everyone wishing to leave can do so.
“The risk of coming under fire from modernized enemy drones is high, so people are being evacuated literally on the move,” the statement said.
Despite the extreme danger of the road out of Pokrovsk, law enforcement officials emphasized that they are successfully evacuating everyone who wants to leave.
According to police estimates, more than 1,800 people remain in Pokrovsk.
As previously reported by Ukrinform, officers from the White Angel special forces unit recently rescued a woman and her 13-year-old son from one of the border communities in the Sumy region while under fire from Russian troops.
