Russian forces amassing reserves near Vovchansk and Dvorichne – Defense Forces

In the Kharkiv region, Russian troops are continuously rotating units involved in assault operations while amassing reserves near the city of Vovchansk and the village of Dvorichne.

Pavlo Shamshyn, spokesperson for the Kharkiv Operational Tactical Group, said this on Ukrainian television, Ukrinform reports.

"The Russians have not abandoned their goal of establishing a so-called buffer zone along our border. We continue to observe the enemy rotating assault units while reinforcing and stockpiling reserves, primarily in the vicinity of Vovchansk and Dvorichne, north of Kupiansk," Shamshyn said.

He also noted that intense assault operations in the region have persisted for some time, with no signs of decreasing motorized attacks.

"Given that Russia continues to train motorized assault forces, a decline in such attacks is unlikely. Their transition to motorcycles suggests a shortage of armored vehicles, resulting in fewer destroyed armored units but an increase in wrecked motorcycles. The low cost of Chinese motorcycles, combined with the disregard for the lives of Russian soldiers, indicates that these reckless 'banzai' motorcycle attacks will persist," Shamshyn added.

As reported by Ukrinform, on May 20, the Russian army once again attempted to cross the state border of Ukraine in the direction of Stroivka in the Kharkiv region.
