War update: 168 combat engagements on frontline over past day

This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Facebook, releasing operational information as of 8:00 on Thursday, May 15, according to Ukrinform.

According to the General Staff data, yesterday the Russians launched one missile strike and 68 air strikes at Ukrainian positions and settlements, including the use of 108 guided bombs.

The invaders also employed 3,327 kamikaze drones and carried out 5,298 shelling attacks, of which 151 were launched using multiple rocket launcher systems.

Enemy air strikes were recorded, in particular, in the areas of Richky and Bilopillia in Sumy region; Pidlyman and Kupiansk in Kharkiv region; Yalta, Kostiantynivka, Pokrovsk, Zvirove, Zaporizhzhia, Novoukrainka, and Novopil in Donetsk region; Dachne in Dnipropetrovsk region; Huliaipole, Vysoke, Stepnohirsk, and Kamianske in Zaporizhzhia region.

Ukrainian aviation, missile troops, and artillery of the Defense Forces struck three concentrations of enemy personnel, weapons, and military equipment, four artillery systems, one radar station, and nine other important targets of the Russian army during the past day.

In the Kharkiv sector, Russian forces conducted offensive actions three times near Vovchansk and Kamianka.

In the Kupiansk sector, the enemy launched one attack yesterday. Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled the assault near Hlushkivka.

In the Lyman sector, Russian forces attacked 24 times. They attemptd to advance near Nova Kruhliakivka, Lozova, Novoiehorivka, Hrekivka, Kolodiazi, Yampolivka, and Ridkodub, as well as towards Hryhorivka.

In the Siversk sector, Russian invaders attacked Ukrainian positions five times near Verkhniokamianske and Bilohorivka.

In the Kramatorsk sector, eight combat engagements were recorded near Chasiv Yar, Hryhorivka, Bila Hora, and Kurdiumivka.

In the Toretsk sector, Russians attacked 19 times near Toretsk, Krymske, and Dyliivka.

In the Pokrovsk sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled 74 enemy assault and offensive actions near Stara Mykolaivka, Yelyzavetivka, Myroliubivka, Promin, Lysivka, Zvirove, Kotlyne, Udachne, Kotliarivka, and Andriivka.

In the Novopavlivka sector, Russian troops attacked Ukrainian Defense Forces’ positions 26 times near Bahatyr, Novopil, Burlatske, and Vilne Pole.

In the Orikhiv sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled three enemy assaults near Stepove.

In the Prydniprovske sector, Ukrainian forces stopped one attempt by Russian troops to advance.

In the Kursk sector, nine combat engagements occurred throughout the past day. Russian forces launched six strikes using guided bombs and conducted 210 artillery shellings, including four with multiple rocket launchers.

In the Huliaipole sector, the Russians did not conduct any offensive actions.

In the Volyn and Polissia sectors, no signs of enemy offensive group formations were spotted.

As reported by Ukrinform, the total combat losses of Russian forces in manpower from February 24, 2022, to May 15, 2025, have reached approximately 970,590 personnel, including 1,220 invaders eliminated in the past 24 hours.
