Ukrainian forces down 13 Russian missiles, 40 drones overnight

On the night of April 5-6, Ukraine's Defense Forces shot down 13 Russian missiles and 40 drones. An additional 53 enemy UAVs disappeared from radar.

The Ukrainian Air Force said this in a post on Telegram, according to Ukrinform.

Russian occupiers launched a combined airstrike against Ukraine overnight, using air-, land-, and sea-launched missiles, as well as attack UAVs.

Preliminary data indicates that radio-technical units of the Ukrainian Air Force detected and tracked 132 enemy aerial targets, particularly 23 missiles of various types and 109 attack UAVs (including decoy drones of other types).

Specifically, Russia used nine Kh-101/Kh-55SM cruise missiles launched by Tu-95MS strategic bombers from the airspace over the Saratov region, eight Kalibr cruise missiles launched from the Black Sea, six Iskander-M ballistic missiles launched from the Bryansk region, and 109 Shahed attack UAVs and other decoy drones launched from Bryansk, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Kursk, and Chauda in temporarily occupied Crimea.

The Russian air assault was repelled by the aircraft, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare systems, and mobile fire teams of Ukraine's Defense Forces.

As of 10:00 on April 6, 53 aerial targets had been confirmed shot down, including six Kh-101/Kh-55SM cruise missiles, six Kalibr cruise missiles, an Iskander-M ballistic missile, and 40 Shahed-type attack UAVs.

Another 53 enemy decoy drones vanished from radar without causing any damage.

The enemy attack affected the Kyiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Khmelnytskyi, Cherkasy, and Mykolaiv regions.
