CCD: Kremlin attempts to blame Ukraine for disrupting Trump’s peace initiatives

Ukrinform
Russian propaganda has been circulating reports of Ukraine's alleged failure to comply with the ceasefire agreement. Instead, it was the Russian Federation that launched a massive drone attack on Ukraine's energy and civilian infrastructure immediately after Donald Trump's talks with Putin.

According to Ukrinform, the Center for Countering Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine reported this on Telegram.

“Ru-propaganda is actively spreading the message that Ukraine is breaking the ceasefire agreement. In particular, the Russian Ministry of Defense accuses Ukraine of attacking a Russian energy infrastructure facility, claiming that this is a provocation to disrupt the peace initiatives of the US President. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov made a similar statement, accusing Kyiv of “lacking contractual capacity.” It is noteworthy that these statements come after a massive drone attack on Ukraine's energy and civilian infrastructure, which Russia carried out immediately after Donald Trump's talks with Putin,” the statement said.

As noted, in this way, Russia is trying to distort reality and shift the responsibility for the failure of the ceasefire agreements and provocations that it organizes onto Ukraine. By doing so, Moscow is trying to prolong the war and sabotage peace initiatives.

As reported by Ukrinform, Russia has launched 145 drones into Ukraine since the evening, shooting down 72 targets in twelve regions.

On Tuesday, US President Donald Trump had a phone conversation with Russian leader Putin. The conversation lasted more than an hour and a half.
