The Japanese NIKKEN-V35 mechanized demining machine has proven its ability to neutralize mines and unexploded ordnance despite challenging terrain and dense vegetation.

According to Ukrinform, Ukraine's State Emergency Service (SES) shared a video on Facebook demonstrating the machine in action.

"In the Kharkiv region, SES bomb disposal experts continue clearing areas near power lines. These are critical infrastructure objects -- restoring them after de-occupation means bringing electricity back to people's homes," the agency stated in the video caption.

Dense vegetation and rugged terrain make demining efforts particularly difficult.

"This is where the Japanese NIKKEN-V35 mechanized demining machine comes into play," SES said.

The machine effectively neutralizes mines and shells, even when they are concealed in vegetation or buried in the ground.

SES said that this technology not only accelerates the demining process but also significantly reduces risks for specialists, enabling safe operations in high-danger areas.

Earlier reports said that Ukraine is set to receive 26 additional GCS mechanized demining machines this year. This initiative is funded by international donors, including the governments of Germany, Switzerland, Canada, the U.S., the UK, and Lithuania, and contributions through the United24 platform.
