Eight Russian agents exposed in Ukraine for arson attacks
According to the Prosecutor General's Office, the suspects operated in different regions of Ukraine, targeting critical infrastructure, Ukrinform reports.
In Odesa, three residents attempted to sabotage a relay cabinet at the Odesa-Skhidna railway station. They doused a car tire and the cabinet with gasoline and tried to set it on fire, filming the act for their handlers. However, the arson attempt failed.

In Vinnytsia, another suspect set fire to a railway relay cabinet near the city and recorded the incident on video.

In the Kharkiv region, two brothers, along with an accomplice, set fire to a railway cable cabinet near a key railway junction. A few days later, they targeted a vehicle belonging to a Ukrainian serviceman. The brothers' friend, along with a female acquaintance, then smashed a village council building window with a brick, poured flammable liquid onto the windowsill, and ignited it, causing damage to the premises.

The suspects face charges including sabotage, attempted sabotage, intentional destruction of property by arson, and obstruction of the Ukrainian Armed Forces under various articles of Ukraine's Criminal Code (Article 28(2), Article 15(2), Article 113(2), Article 194(2), and Article 114-1(1)).

The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) and National Police are leading the pretrial investigation.

Earlier, Ukrinform reported that a 19-year-old man was sentenced to four years in prison for setting fire to a military SUV in Cherkasy on Russia's orders.
