Drone strikes in Sumy injure two, 40 residents evacuated from damaged homes

The Sumy Regional Military Administration reported the attack on Facebook, according to Ukrinform.

"Late on February 27, several Russian drones crashed in the regional center. Preliminary reports indicate that two people were injured," the statement read.

The blasts shattered windows and damaged roofs in residential buildings. Authorities evacuated 40 residents from the affected homes to safety. The regional military administration added that the full extent of the damage is still being assessed.

On the same evening, at around 21:00, Russian forces launched an airstrike on the Krasnopillia community using guided aerial bombs.

"Preliminary reports indicate no casualties. However, the attack damaged an apartment building, ten private homes, and several outbuildings," the regional administration stated.

Additionally, in the Hlukhiv community, a low-pressure gas pipeline was damaged due to shelling.

"Emergency services are working at the impact sites," the regional military administration said.

Earlier, the Sumy City Council also reported casualties and confirmed damage to windows in multiple buildings due to the drone attack.
