In Sumy, Russians strike civilian car with drone, driver dies in ambulance

In Sumy, Russians attacked a civilian car with a drone, the driver died in an ambulance, and another passenger was hospitalized with an injury.

This was reported by the Sumy Regional Prosecutor's Office, Ukrinform reports.

“The occupants attacked a civilian car with a drone in Sumy - an investigation has been launched. According to the investigation, on February 24, 2025, at about 16:00, using methods of warfare prohibited by international law, the enemy attacked a vehicle moving along one of the central streets of Sumy with a drone. The 62-year-old driver of the car died in an ambulance from his injuries, a 31-year-old passenger was injured and hospitalized,” the statement said.

Prosecutors, in cooperation with other law enforcement agencies, are documenting the consequences of the shelling.

The pre-trial investigation is being carried out by investigators of the Sumy District Police Department of the National Police in Sumy region.

Earlier, Ukrinform reported that today a drone hit a roadway in the city of Sumy. Two people were injured and one died as a result of the strike.
