Nearly 300,000 civilians remain in Donetsk region
This was announced by Serhiy Honcharov, the head of the Department for Civil Protection, Mobilization and Defense at the Donetsk Regional State Administration, during an online briefing, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“In total, almost 1.2 million civilians have been evacuated from the Donetsk region, including more than 189,000 children and about 46,000 people with disabilities. About 300,000 civilians remain in the Ukrainian government-controlled territory of the region,” Honcharov said.
He recalled that the mandatory evacuation of civilians in the government-controlled part of the Donetsk region has been ongoing since August 2, 2022.
“The evacuation continues. Once again, I am calling on everyone through the media to consider the possibility of evacuating to safer areas outside the region," Honcharov said.
As reported, as of February 12, 2025, about 301,000 civilians remained in the Donetsk region controlled by Ukraine.
