At least one killed in Russian missile attack on Kyiv, child among wounded

At least one person has been killed in a missile attack on Kyiv. There have been reports of injuries and fires in various districts of the city.

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko announced this on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.

“One person was killed in the Podilskyi district, according to preliminary information. In the Darnytskyi district, a fire broke out on the territory of a private enterprise," he wrote.

Klitschko subsequently provided further details: "There is also one victim in the Podilskyi district. He was hospitalized by medics. Before that, the body of the deceased was found in the Podilskyi district," he said.

Later, Klitschko clarified: “The deceased and the injured person who was hospitalized are from the Obolonskyi district.”

“In the Obolonskyi district, another victim is a 9-year-old girl. Medics also hospitalized her,” the mayor wrote.

Earlier, fires were reported in five districts of Kyiv - Solomianskyi, Sviatoshynskyi, Holosiivskyi, Podilskyi and Obolonskyi.

As reported by Ukrinform, an air alert was declared in the capital and a number of regions due to the threat of a missile attack.
