One of the three North Korean military brigades fighting in Russia’s Kursk region has been completely destroyed, while the other two have suffered heavy losses.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky stated this in an interview with the Associated Press, as reported by Ukrinform.

"We have seen three brigades of North Koreans, one of which was destroyed. The other two have suffered losses, though I don't know the exact numbers. Today, they were not sent into assaults. Perhaps they will be redeployed, reinforced, or restored at some point. This could happen on any given day. We understand that they may undertake offensive actions. Our intelligence provides insights into possible moments, directions, and dates of their attacks. We are preparing for their next moves," Zelensky said.

The Ukrainian president noted that North Korea has lost approximately 4,000 personnel in Kursk region. In total, Pyongyang has deployed around 12,000 troops to fight in Russia’s war against Ukraine.

Zelensky added that on January 31, Ukraine’s Armed Forces struck a central enemy command post in Kursk region, resulting in the deaths of both Russian and North Korean officers. He emphasized that this was a legitimate military target, hit by a missile strike and various types of weaponry. He estimated that dozens of enemy officers were eliminated.
