General Staff: 59 combat clashes on front lines since start of day, battles raging in eight sectors
This is said in a situation update by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Ukrinform reports.
"There were 140 combat engagements over the past day. According to the updated information, the enemy launched seven missile attacks on the positions of our troops and settlements using nine missiles, 48 air strikes (including with the use of 77 guided aerial bombs), carried out about 4,300 shelling attacks, including 109 MLRS attacks, more than 1,300 attacks by various types of kamikaze drones," the statement said.
Over the past day, the Air Force, missile forces and artillery of the Defense Forces hit five enemy personnel and weapons concentration areas, one air defense system, one radar station, and three ammunition depots.
The Russian army lost 1,170 troops yesterday. 24 enemy tanks, 21 armored combat vehicles, 60 artillery systems, 50 UAVs, one MLRS, three air defense systems, one aircraft, five cruise missiles, 46 vehicles and 11 units of special equipment were destroyed.
"Since the beginning of the day, 59 combat engagements have already taken place. The invaders carried out 16 air strikes using 33 guided aerial bombs, fired more than 565 times at the positions of our troops and populated areas," the General Staff said in the update.
Battles are ongoing in the eight sectors of the front.
