Ukrainian forces putting pressure on Russians in left-bank part of Kherson region - Yusov

Andrii Yusov, a representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, said this on national television, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.

"[The situation with Russian troops there] is not fun, it's true. After all, this can clearly be traced by those draconian 'filtration measures' [that are carried out there]. In fact, it's just the terror of the local population, which has increased significantly recently," he said.

Yusov spoke about measures being taken by the Russians against civilian Ukrainians who found themselves in the temporarily occupied territories, including the seizure of vehicles, checks and seizure of documents, absolutely groundless detentions. He also added that the occupiers were afraid of peaceful Ukrainians living in those territories, because they understand that people hate them.

"And of course, the Russians are nervous about this, because, on the one hand, Ukraine's security and defense forces are putting pressure on them, and on the other hand, the local population does not support them. They feel like invaders, strangers there and that's what they are," he said.

According to military intelligence, very many Russians, even among those who signed the contracts, have no desire to be on the front lines or to perform any combat tasks.
