War update: 23 combat engagements take place on front

Twenty-three military clashes have occurred between Ukraine’s Defense Forces and Russian invaders over the past day.

The relevant statement was made by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Facebook, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

In the Melitopol and Berdiansk directions, Ukrainian forces continue the offensive and are gaining foothold within the re-captured frontiers, attacking the detected enemy targets with artillery and conducting counterbattery measures.

In the past 24 hours, Ukraine’s Air Force has launched eight strikes on Russian personnel, ammunition and military equipment clusters, and four strikes on enemy surface-to-air missile systems.

Ukrainian missile and artillery units hit four enemy command posts, three air defense missile systems, nine artillery systems in firing position, and four electronic warfare systems.

The Ukrainian military also shot down three Shahed-136 loitering munitions.

Meanwhile, Russian troops launched one missile and 58 air strikes, and opened fire with multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) 26 times. Following Russian terrorist attacks, casualties among civilians were reported, as well as the damage caused to port infrastructure and grain storage facilities in southern Ukraine, residential houses and other civil infrastructure.

The threat of Russian missile and air strikes is persisting all over Ukraine, according to the General Staff.

In the Volyn and Polissia directions, the operational situation remained rather unchanged. No enemy offensive groupings were detected.

In the Siverskyi and Slobozhanskyi directions, Russian troops are maintaining military presence. The enemy launched air strikes near the Kharkiv region’s Huriv Kozachok and Pishchane. Over 15 settlements were affected by Russian mortar and artillery strikes in the Chernihiv, Sumy and Kharkiv regions.

In the Kupiansk direction, Russians launched air strikes near the Kharkiv region’s Terny, Vilshana and Kyslivka, as well as artillery and mortar strikes on the Kharkiv region’s Krasne Pershe, Fyholivka, Dvorichna, Zapadne, Kupiansk and Odradne.

In the Lyman direction, Russian troops launched air strikes near the Luhansk region’s Bilohorivka, and the Donetsk region’s Lyman, Yampil, Siversk, Spirne and Rozdolivka. Russiana artillery strikes affected the Luhansk region’s Nevske and Bilohorivka, and the Donetsk region’s Torske, Verkhniokamianske, Spirne and Rozdolivka.

In the Bakhmut direction, Ukrainian defenders successfully repelled Russian attacks to the northwest of the Donetsk region’s Orikhovo-Vasylivka, to the south of Ivanivske and to the west of Klishchiivka. The enemy launched air strikes on the Donetsk region’s Dyliivka and Predtechyne. Over 10 settlements were affected by Russian artillery strikes.

In the Avdiivka direction, under extensive artillery fire and air strikes, Ukrainian warriors successfully repelled Russian attacks near the Donetsk region’s Pervomaiske. Over 10 settlements were affected by Russian artillery strikes. The enemy launched air strikes near the Donetsk region’s Novokalynove, Avdiivka and Nevelske.

In the Marinka direction, Ukrainian forces continue holding back Russia’s onslaught near Krasnohorivka and Marinka. Over 10 settlements were affected by Russian shelling.

In the Shakhtarske direction, Russian troops conducted unsuccessful offensive actions near the Donetsk region’s Rivnopil. Over 10 settlements were affected by Russian shelling.

In the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions, Russian occupiers are focusing efforts to prevent Ukrainian forces from advancing. Over 30 settlements were affected by Russian artillery strikes. The enemy launched air strikes near the Zaporizhzhia region’s Mala Tokmachka, Orikhiv and Lobkove.

In the temporarily occupied areas, Russian invaders continue looting and using civilian health infrastructure for military purposes. In the Kherson region’s Radensk, Russian occupiers set up a field hospital in a local kindergarten. Dozens of Russian soldiers are undergoing treatment there.
