
Rescuers remove oil products spilled due to blowing up of Kakhovka HPP

Rescuers have completed the collection of oil products that have settled near a settlement in the floodplain of the Virovchyna River in Kherson region as a result of the Russian blowing up of the Kakhovka HPP.
Ukraine's Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko said this on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.
"On Saturday, June 24, rescuers completed the collection of oil products in the Kherson region that settled near the settlement in the floodplain of the Virovchyna River," Klymenko said.
They utilized 250 cubic meters of contaminated soil. In total, the area of more than 40.5 thousand square meters was cleaned. The State Emergency Service used 6 tons of sorbent to treat this area.
As Ukrinform reported, on the night of June 6, the Russian army blew up the dam of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant, causing flooding of parts of Kherson and Mykolaiv regions and at the same time critical shallowing of the Kakhovka reservoir.
