Region’s governor: Situation at Zaporizhzhia NPP stable

Russian military keeps heavy weapons and personnel at the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant, periodically damaging the high-voltage lines, which provide electricity for the plant's needs, with shelling. But despite the occupation, the situation at the ZNPP is stable.

"Today, Europe’s largest nuclear power plant is again in the spotlight. The intelligence reported to the President of Ukraine that Russia is considering the scenario of another terrorist act, this time at the ZNPP. The Russian military has heavy weapons and personnel at the NPP, periodically damaging high-voltage lines, which provide electricity for the plant's needs, with shelling. Despite the occupation, the situation at the ZNPP is stable. Ukrainian specialists are on site," Head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration Yuriy Malashko said in his address.

Malashko noted that the nuclear facility’s specialists have actually been held as hostages for the second year, but they continue to work in extremely difficult conditions.

"Operational staff monitors the state of power units and ensures their operation in accordance with requirements. We know who we are dealing with, and therefore are ready for any developments," the governor of Zaporizhzhia region assured.

The regional authorities, together with specialized services, developed appropriate action plans and repeatedly conducted special training in case of a real nuclear threat.

As reported, Ukrainian intelligence received information that Russia is considering the scenario of a terrorist act at the ZNPP with the release of radiation and has already prepared everything for this.
