ATACAMS missiles for Ukraine: Kuleba tells about dialog with US

Ukraine continues to negotiate with the United States and other countries on the transfer of ATACAMS and similar missiles.

This was stated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba in an interview with Suspilne, Ukrinform reports.

He explained that since the beginning of the full-scale war, Ukraine had to unblock seven types of weapons, and each conversation was difficult and started with a "no," but in the end the state received everything - "Western artillery and HIMARS, and Patriot SAMs, we will get airplanes as well."

"And then there is this issue with ATACAMS. It was a rare case when it was not the United States that was the first country to provide us with long-range missiles, and then others caught up. The first country was the United Kingdom. We are working with several other countries to ensure that they will make similar decisions. The conversation with the United States on this topic is ongoing," Kuleba said.

The minister expressed regret that the US has not yet made this decision, but refused to criticize Washington too harshly for this against the background of other assistance to Ukraine.

"I think we will resolve this issue in one way or another," the Foreign Minister concluded.

As Ukrinform reported, the US House of Representatives Foreign Affairs Committee considered and supported a bipartisan resolution H.Res. 488 calling on the Biden administration to immediately provide Ukraine with ATACAMS missiles.
