Number of wounded flood evacuees in Kherson region rises to 23

At least 23 people were wounded when Russian forces opened fire on evacuees fleeing from the left bank of the Kherson region on Sunday.

According to Ukrinform, the Ukrainian Prosecutor General's Office said this in a post on Telegram.

Law enforcement officers have launched a pretrial investigation due to the violation of the laws and customs of war, combined with intentional murder (Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The investigation established that on June 11, the Russian military once again shelled civilians evacuating from flooded settlements in the temporarily occupied left-bank part of the Kherson region.

"As a result, three people were killed. At least 23 people were injured. The data is being clarified," the report said.

On Sunday, June 11, the Russian army attacked a boat with civilians evacuating from the left bank of the Kherson region.

Despite heavy shelling from Russian forces, 21 people were rescued.
