Defense forces conducting active combat operations in several sections of Bakhmut direction – Maliar

Defense forces are currently conducting active combat operations in several sections of Bakhmut direction.

"The situation is tense in all areas of the front. The east is the epicenter," Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Hanna Maliar posted on Telegram.

According to her, the enemy continues to focus its main efforts on Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiyivka, and Maryinka directions. Heavy fighting continues.

Maliar noted that the enemy launches airstrikes and artillery and mortar attacks in all directions. However, the Russians do not manage to achieve their goals, the Ukrainian defenders repel the attacks.

"In Bakhmut direction, the enemy redeploys reserves and tries to hold the occupied positions. Makes attempts to attack, but fails. Now our defenders are conducting active combat operations in several sections of Bakhmut direction," Maliar added.

The enemy holds the defense in Zaporizhzhia direction. Positional battles are ongoing, she noted.

As reported, the Ukrainian troops advanced 1,600 m on the southern and northern flanks in Bakhmut direction.
